Uh, yes! How else would cacti grow! They store water inside and use it for the really dry seasons. It rains during the night when it is really cool and dark.

Well, it depends on the desert. Some deserts get rain about once a year for a week..it's the "monsoon" season for them. Others, no.

though deserts rarely see rain ,they are known to have some nasty rain storms .
FYI by definition the polar caps are also deserts (areas barren and void of any substantial plant life ,and incapeable of suporting sinifcant plant life)

Yes, but deserts get very little precipitation, if yet any. That's why plants that store water well, like cactus, live there :)

if you bring lots of water to the desert it can be evaporated then form clouds and rain.

Yes but drainage is poor. The water seeks the lowest level.
