She can move her back legs but there isn't much strength to them. I can't tell if she's eating correctly or not. I've given her romaine lettuce and calcium powder. She has a hot rock and a uvb light. She seems alert, but if she falls over she sometimes can't get up. Can I bring her back to health?

please check out www.anapsid.org and www.reptilerooms.com for care sheets and tons of care info. Her diet is very poor. The hot rock is extremely dangerous. She needs correct basking temperatures (from overhead) for 12 hours a day. Measure the temps with a digital thermometer only. UVB needs to be Reptisun 10.0 or Reptiglo 8.0, also 12 hours and within 12 inches of Iggy. Her diet needs dark leafy greens like collards, mustard, turnip, with green beans, squash, a little fruit, alfalfa pellets, etc. added. Also Calcium with D3 mixed in daily and a multivitamin 1 or 2x a week. A pool for soaking and drinking must be provided and kept spotlessly clean. Make sure there is nothing on the bottom of her cage she can ingest. She can survive and thrive, but her spine may not straighten out. She might get strength back in her legs again.

Wow! The CVT knows her stuff. You are killing your iguana through that diet and heat rock. I rescued iguana's for several years, and from what you've said I think your iguana will die within the month.

I don't know if you can get her back. But you have to do EVERYTHING the prior answer stated: Change in diet, change the light, ditch the rock, check the temperatures, and take her to a vet for a sub-cue calcium injection.

You've tinkered with your 'home remedies' long enough. Stop the nonsense and take her to a vet!! Those symptoms are NOT normal.

Are you aware that it is her RIGHT by law to receive proper medical care and that by denying it you are committing abuse?

Stop asking unqualified strangers on the internet who have never even seen her, let alone examine her, and get going!
