Nuvaring. Good or bad? Please give your experience while on it.?

My doctor had recommended putting me on NuvaRing since I have had my period for 5 months straight. I'm not sexually active but I have to stop this tremendously long period. I've heard it's weight neutral meaning I won't gain or lose weight. What are some of the side effects you've had? Would you recommend it?

I have never tried it but I know of several women who did try it, one with very bad results and another with very good results. I'm told that one of the side effects that can occur with this medication at least to start with is breakthrough bleeding.
