I just found (looks like) porcelain ping pong ball in my toilet - is it supposed to be there and what do i do?

Toilet was clogged, i used a plunger all is well. on final "plunge" i heard a rattle i look and there's white porcelain(?) ball rolling around - i stuck my hand down there and pulled it out and that's just what it looks like. Is it supposed to be there? What does it do? Should I put it back? Any ideas why it would be there in the first place? Thanks!!!

I would guess it has to be some sort of foreign objcet, there's nothing inside the toilet bowl that would be a ball. A picture would help, but I don't think it's anything to be concerned with unles the toilet is now leaking or not working.

Totally agreeing with Brian here. Worked on a lot of toilets in my lifetime and NEVER have I seen or heard of any such thing being a part of a toilet. Throw it away and count yourself lucky that it came loose.

I really don't think it goes there, and perhaps that's what was plugging up your toilet. (No I wouldn't put it back, unless of course gallons and gallons of water come pouring out of your toilet and flooding your house, then I might consider it, maybe it was the stopper.) lol good luck ;o)

If it tastes like disinfectant it probably came from the tank and has eroded down to a useless size. Just dispose of it.

Do you have kids? are you missing a knob off of a cabinet or something? look around. If not, put it on a shelf and talk about it at partys

it might be one of them sex toy balls that some women use
