is this guy a born liar or is he just prone to exaggerations?
He claimed that 10,000 people died in the Kansas tornado and now he claims that the average car in Japan gets 45 MPG.
Born liar?

Anyone who uses Media Matters as a legitimate source without fact-checking a story is even worse than a liar..

Here is the Pew Report. It says no such thing.
"Assuming no change in the vehicle mix, these targets imply a 23 percent improvement in 2010 in gasoline passenger vehicle fuel economy and a 14 percent improvement in diesel fuel economy compared with the 1995 fleet average of 14.6 km/L. According to the Japanese government, this improvement will result in an average fleet fuel economy of Japanese vehicles of 35.5 mpg by 2010. weight classfuel economy Figure 4 Japanese for gasoline passenger vehicles Standards 10-15 mode (km/l)"
It is obvious to everyone that Media Matters and Obama are lying. Anyone with a brain would realize that 45 mpg AVERAGE is a lie. Maybe Obama is REALLY this out of touch with the world. That's scary.

He does seem to stretch the truth a bit. Try comparing what he says versus his voting record. It's like polar opposites.
All dems have to lie to get votes. If they told the truth about their plan for the country no one would vote for them.

THE REAL LIARS ARE THE RIGHTWING MEDIA WHO SMEAR DEMOCRATS. HERE IS THE TRUTH:

Columnist Jim Mateja wrote that Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) "has more homework to do" and "should [hire] a fact-checker" because Obama stated that "Japanese cars [are] now getting an average of 45 miles to the gallon." In fact, a report from the Pew Center on Global Climate Change stated that the 2002 average fleet fuel economy value in Japan was 46.3 miles per gallon.

It's just not a viable comparison, the US and Japan?
The place is so small, that they MUST have smaller vehicles. They don't have much choice. They also don't have that "Love Affair" with the automobile, like Americans have. We like our comfort, our horse power. If Obama doesn't like it, then he can go live in a place where the people drive econo-boxes.
If Obama really cared about decreasing our fuel consumption, he should be pointing out the other things that Japan has, things that American politicians DON'T want us to have, High-Speed Rail, more commuter rails, more pedestrian and bicycle friendy cities. Instead, all the liberals can do, is try to take away the things REAL AMERICANS love. OUR AMERICAN CARS !!

A slip, a mistake. Was Bush telling the truth when he said that the Queen of England came to visit in 1776? She did not find this statement as funny as Bush did by the way. Or did he make a mistake? People are human and they make mistakes! 45 miles per gallon doesn't that far fetched! If Bush said this would you call him a liar?

Toyota.com says the Prius gets 55 mpg.

I found that in about 3 minutes of searching online so I am sure there are other cars from and in Japan that are getting 45mpg or more, if you just do some research.
