LMAO! Great piece and I can imagine this as a song, but... 1) not sure country music is 'so' racy... mind you I don't listen to much country music 2) rhythms seem a tad 'jerky'... to my ear that is, and I play guitar and piano... Overall, I suggest a prune of small words might tighten the rhythms. Have you thought about dispensing with the plethora of pronouns and some of the prepositions and conjunctions? For instance, many of the 'I's are redundant because we know the piece is first-person so the chorus could become 'Gonna roll tonight Lord, gonna roll. Ain't gonna walk to Heaven. Lord, gonna roll.' Do you think the first-person pronoun is implied in the foregoing example? And I think the punctuation throws off the rhythms. For instance the commas in 'The road to hell is gettin' near, Lord, toss me a line' introduce two extra beats. Compare the previous with 'The road to hell is gettin' near, Lord toss me a line' and with 'The road to hell is gettin' near. Lord toss me a line.' For me, the subtle shifts in rhythm relate to the musicality of the lyrics. My comments notwithstanding, it is a fun piece that lifted high the corners of my lips Thanks for the laugh...
