It's very hard to find anyone who compares to Teddy Roosevelt. He modernized our military, brought us fully out of Isolationism, laid the groundwork for civil rights, rolled in labor reform, child labor laws, the 40 hour work week, tenement reforms, the Antiquities Act which is the legislation behind the National Parks System and the first American efforts at environmentalism. I could go on and on, but the reality is that Roosevelt accomplished more in a few years than most modern presidents could accomplish in 2 terms with their own party controlling Congress.

I mean, James K. Polk came into office with 4 goals to accomplish in the one term he wanted to serve and he got it done, so he might be "the only one who got everything done".

But as for best president ever, I have to go with Reagan.

I saw a film about Zachary Taylor that had me believe that he was the greatest president. When he came into office it was the start of the grumbling of a Civil War. And it was thought that from being from the south he would side with slavery, but he decided it would be better to use force to hold the country together than to allow it to Divide. He had the Courage to stand up for his beliefs.

But after reading that and remembering all the achievements of Teddy Roosevelt yeah I Think he wins. Amazing how many jobs Teddy went threw in short period of time to rise up to be President.

Probably Washington. He followed the constitution more than anyone else, didn't really try to expand his power too much and possibly the least political.
