It is extremely rare to FEEL the baby's heartbeat. It could be the baby kicking, moving, or having the hiccups, but it's probably not the heartbeat.

First pregnancy - usually feel movement by week 20.[ second or more - usually 15 - 18 weeks.]
You cannot feel the babies heartbeat. You can feel kicks, punches, rolling, hiccups, but not the heartbeat - it is well protected in his/her chest.
Go to a bookstore, new or used, and get 'What to Expect When You're Expecting'.

You won't be able to 'feel' the babys heartbeat, around week 10 a dr can hear the heartbeat with a fetal doppler. You probably won't be able to feel fetal movement until closer to 17 weeks even though the baby is moving around in there, it's just to small to be able to feel it yet. Once you do start feeling movement it'll feel like little flutters at first until the baby is bigger to feel more definate movements.

you cant really feel the baby's heartbeat till waaaay later on . And sometimes not even then, I know after 25 weeks my hubby could sometimes hear the heartbeat. You will not be able to feel the baby move till after 16 weeks, and since this is your first probably not till closer to 20 weeks. Don't worry!!

You don't feel the baby's heartbeat. You can only hear it on an ultrasound. You will feel it kicking, and moving, but 12 weeks is very early. wait till your like 6months pregnant, that's when you will really feel him/her moving around, kicking you in the bladder, and tickling your ribs.

No you won't ever FEEL the hearbeat but by now you should be able to hear it on a Doppler though. You probably won't feel the baby move until you're about 22-28 weeks depending on your size and because it's your first baby. Women with second and more pregnancies tend to feel their babies move sooner because they know what to look for.
