they never are.... thats what makes them so great... if making a sacrifice was rewarding you would have payment for doing it... then it wouldnt really be a scrifice now would it... it would be a pleasure...

to be a sacrifice it has to be not worth the effort... it has to $ uck... there cant be any reward at all... not even a good feeling...

No. My sacrifice was around to help me carry the sacred objects up the mountain before the ritual. I had to drag all that stuff back to the car by myself. Do you know how much a granite altar and obsidian knife weigh? Sheesh. I'm going to convert to Christianity. Surely being an Episcopalian isn't as hard as being an Aztec.

I put my 3 sons through college. It was financially challenging to me, but my youngest just graduated last year and I have no regrets in that arena.

I used to hold them as babies and talk to them about how much I wanted them to be happy. I'd talk about how I would feel when they went off to college.

As they grew, I talked about them going to college as a matter of course. It was interwoven into many dinner table discussions.

It was a dream of mine that I really did make come true. It was a dream for my children's futures and I am content to know that I have done what I could to prepare them for their lives, and I am now happy to let them spread their wings and fly.

It doesn't really feel much like a sacrifice come to think of it.
