No Canada and Australia are not like Switzerland in neutrality.
Both countries are NATO allies and have forces in Afghanistan. Canada has lost
51 service personnel and a diplomat the last five years we've been in Afghanistan.
Canada is by no means a major terrorist threat despite what certain congressional and senators will tell you. We've got a trial going on 17 alleged terrorists who were arrested last june.
The 9/11 terrorists DID NOT come in through Maine from Nova Scotia. Most of the terrorists involved with 9/11 lived in Florida.
And we do not track American agents from the DOD by quarters with poppies on them.

No, Australia is not neutral and never has been. It is fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan at the moment alongside US. Australia also has troops in peacekeeping roles in a number of countries around the world and have done so continuously since 1947.
As others have mentioned, Australians were amongst the first to fight alongside Britain, New Zealand and Canada during WW-2 declaring war in September 1939. Australians were also in Korea, Vietnam, the First Gulf War and fought alongside British and New Zealand soldiers in Malaya during the Malay crisis.
The person who said that Switzerland is not part of the UN is incorrect. Switzerland is neutral, but is part of the UN.
The other person who said that Australia is part of NATO is also incorrect. Australia is not part of NATO, (Australia is nowhere near the North Atlantic) but is part of ANZUS and was part of SEATO when it existed.

Well I know the Australian army has never been neutral that's why we are in Afghanistan,Iraq and East Timor at the moment. I cant speak for the Canadians but I don't think they have ever been backwards in coming forward in times of crisis they also have a proud military history.
Something you should remember is when WW2 was declared the Brits,Aussies,NZ and Canadians were one of the first to fight.
You obviously haven't heard of the Anzac's or the Rats of Tobruk google it up you will be surprised.

Both are sorta aligned with the US and Europe in the fight against terrorism - their soldiers are fighting alongside NATO counterparts in Afghanistan, Iraq.
And I'm sorta glad this is the case. Only Switzerland is neutral. Hell they don't even want to join the United Nations.

Are you serious?
Do you remember the Australians who died fighting for our flag in Normandy. ( ANZACS )
What about Vietnam? Didn't America ask for our help? Didn't lots of Aussies die fighting for a war that America started?
What about Korea?
New Guinea?
The Gulf War?
Afghanistan?
Iraq?
East Timor?
Do you think we were classed as 'Neutral' when 88 of our Australians were targetted in Bali by terrorists?
And if I have forgotten to mention the many other wars and conflicts that our proud Aussies have and are still fighting for I apologise.
Please read some history about the Aussie Soldiers, it may surprise you.
Oh and as far as Homeless saying that we're Alkaline!
It was probably an Alkaline Aussie solder that covered your loud mouth American Butt in Vietnam!
