The University of Maryland College Park has one of the best journalism schools in the nation.
Their newspaper, the Diamondback, is widely read by other media sources, the community and the rest of the country.
It's given birth to several famous media people including the guy who created the Boondocks.
I work at a community newspaper in which we have two reporters who come from CP and worked at the Diamondback and both of them were leagues above the rest of us. One was promoted within six months and the other went on to work at the Baltimore Sun .

Since I went to Syracuse, I should throw in a plug for it. No complaints here.
Northwestern and Missouri also quickly come to mind, but there are plenty out there.
