You will find it if you go to the start meanu in the left bottom corner. Then go find Accessories. Look there and you will find command promt, can someone tell me what this thing do and how to use it?

that is how you tell the computer what to do line by line. mostly used for programmers and technicians when they need to access commands without all the fancy screen displays. can also be used to do file searches etc if correct command is used. basically it's the old DOS prompt.

You use that to run commands, such as IPCONFIG.
Even the utility to disable IE7 auto update are run from these command prompts.
So yes, its still in need and are very useful for people who knows how to use them.
