It depends upon your meaning. People claim friends that don't even know their names, and then perpetuate multiple grape-vines of how sorry they are about some interaction to give an impression of the possibilty of a future based on a reconciled relationship that is a fiction for appearance to cliques and camera addicts.
Otherwise, once betrayed, I walk away knowing that it is not my type of person and taking no further interest, no problems regardless of theretofore interaction. If a person would breach the trust of one whom he claimed to be friend, then either he changed to a point where there is no longer a friendship, or my affection was based on my projected perceptions or wants, not the real person.

It's not about me...
This person was like this before me and will most likely be so after wards.
However, I truly believe there is no mistake in the friends we choose. Both the loyal and the back stabbers support our journey. We are too bright not to sense the subtleties of human deception or instability long before the unmasking.
I’d be devastated at first, but I’d remind myself that I choose to interact with this person in a way that ignites these feelings. I would ask myself what I needed learn from this betrayal. Then I would wish the person well...in his/her own life--from afar.

I grew up in a country where all women are dominant, masculine and FALSE.
Back stabbing is one(of few) of their "powers".
Thank God I live in US now where women still are women and are friendly towards each other and have morales and manners..
I did not like women until I moved here, did not trust any "woman"(they are not even feminine...).
If someone "stabbed you in the back", send her to Sweden, she will fit in well there...
There are so many others out there who are good people and need a good friend like you.
Good luck!

First of all, I'd want to know why they would do such a thing.
Maybe they felt they had no other choice.
Maybe they wanted your attention.
Maybe it was all part of the plan from day one.
I'd have to know the 'why' before I could come up with what to do next.

Sad for a few days but move on quick.. Count it as a lesson learned and be more carful next time. Know that it is their loss not mine.

It's not the easiest thing to deal with, but if someone does that they weren't really your friend anyway. Mourn them and move on. There are truer friends than that!

Same thing happened to me. I personally think you should talk to that person about what happened/is hapenning. Sometimes you can sort things out, sometimes you cant. And if you can't maybe he/she is worthy of being your friend, and if they took the credit of hurting you so bad then you should associate yourself with them anymore. good luck hun

I realize quickly they were never a friend to start with and immediately stop the friendship in any form.
I don't have time for that from anyone.
