I am a junior in high school and am in one honors and AP course of which I have a A in both. But I moved a lot in my previous years in high school and had to take standard classes of which I pretty much got straight A's in. I am taking 4 AP's my senior year and am in the National Honor Society, Foreign Language Honor Society, and have a Principal's Achievement Award. I also have been on the High Honor Roll every Quarter sice the beginning of my sophmore year. I have also done volunteer and community service work. Do I have a good chance of getting into a good college or did moving so much hurt me in the long run? Please help I am stressing out a lot!!

And I am also going to graduate with an Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors Designation and also with the title of Language Distinction (for taking 5 years of foreign language) And you have to live in NY to know what Regents is lol) Basically it is standardized tests of different subjects that every student in the state of NY has to take

Assuming that you do well on your SATs, you have an excellent chance of getting into some very good colleges.

You will have to write an essay to get into college. I suggest addressing this issue. That will give you an opportunity to put it in a positive light. The fact that you have adapted well to new surroundings is something that will appeal to college admissions officers.

Now -- stop stressing and get back to work (but don't forget to have some fun, too).

I'm not sure why moving would affect your chances if your academic record is good and your test scores are high, and you participate in the extracurriculars. Some colleges are placing more emphasis on the essay portion of the entrance application, perhaps because it gives a clearer idea of how the person thinks, analyzes, criticizes, and writes. If you are required to do this, spend a lot of time on it, and read what you've written very critically many times.

Standardized test scores are not always an accurate predictor of academic or professional success, but adaptability is a sign that you have what it takes to leave home and do well in a different environment.

Also, it helps to know what you mean by a "good college." Many state universities are "good colleges" and have fairly high standards, but not as high as an Ivy or some of the small liberal arts schools.

Best wishes.

Uh, no. Your moving a lot may even help you because the colleges will see it in all your transcripts. Depending on what colleges you go to, they will also evaluate the schools you went to. If your thinking of applying to colleges like Ivy League or something similar, they will go through everything, checking up on your schools' backgrounds and etc. So no worries. In my opinion, your moving a lot will actually help, not bring you down. It shows that even under constant changes and environments you can still handle school efficiently and collegs like that. Consistency is good, right? Also, if you've ever been in school out of the US, and attended an international school that would probably help your chances more. It shows you've been around and seen a lot, yeah? Experience and all that? :)

Hope I helped with your anxiety and all. Don't stress about it. Your college apps sounds really impressive.

You should be fine getting into college. Your academics and extra curriculars seem pretty good too! How about your SATs/ACTs? Also, often times, getting into college has something to do with your writing skills since almost all college applications include composing some kind of essay. Write professionally and remember all standard conventions. Where do you want to go for college? I can help especially if you want to go to school somewhere in CA. Msg me if you'd like!

Good luck. =)

not only do you have a good chance, but you will have a easy time getting into college. You are way better off than i was when i got accepted. And if i got accepted, you will no doubt get accepted. The only thing you should be worried about is how to decide which college you are going to attend.
