When something like that happens, shut everything down including turning off your Internet and then turn the Internet back on and then everything else. This usually works for me.

If you have broadband, call them. You need to determine what has been going on lately. Have you changed something or downloaded? You may have a virus. You may need to do restore from Programs, accessories and system tools. You may restore to a previous date, when you know that everything was working well.
