I was arrested for breastfeeding my 7 year old son at a local applebee's. Can I be arrested for doing something so natural?

I have never heard of such a thing. I have breastfed everywhere. I have never had someone ask me to stop. If you were arrested then I guess you can be arrested. I think maybe getting an attorney would be a good idea.

As of May 7th, 2007 these are the laws regarding breastfeeding in public. 7 years old. I don't think you stand a chance though since this was probably viewed as some type of abuse.

38 states have laws with language specifically allowing women to breastfeed in any public or private location (Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Utah, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Wyoming).
Twenty-one states exempt breastfeeding from public indecency laws (Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin).

Twelve states have laws related to breastfeeding in the workplace (California, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington).

Twelve states exempt breastfeeding mothers from jury duty (California, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon and Virginia).

Four states have implemented or encouraged the development of a breastfeeding awareness education campaign (California, Illinois, Missouri, and Vermont).

Virginia allows women to breastfeed on any land or property owned by the state.

As long as you are not flashing your goodies to all of the other diners, yeah. Most states have even passed laws to protect breastfeeding mothers.
Oh and by the way, nice. A 7 yr. old? I think that qualifies as child abuse in all 50 states. Thanx for the points though!

properly, i'm a mom and that i'm nursing my infant and that i do feed in public while mandatory. i don't circulate around exposing my chest, I cover up yet often times my son pulls the blanket over his head and there is not something a lot i will do approximately it. human beings ought to advance up and end finding at it as something sexual. A mom is feeding her infant, not getting sucked off by making use of her husband/boyfriend. It amazes me a similar people who think of breastfeeding in public is 'beside the point' are a similar human beings gazing porn, violent video clips, enjoying violent video games, and having informal intercourse. My view is incredibly undemanding. don't love it? seem away. ***I wager Lauren isn't a mom. "If human beings are incredibly going to apply the excuse that "oh they're merely for feeding babies," then incredibly, i ought to assert that our asses are merely for expelling waste* you're comparing the act of ingesting to dispelling waste? are you severe? " Or are you incapable of making use of the restroom? " i could incredibly want to make certain you taking your plate to the restroom and have your meals there. "Or is it a criminal offense against your infant and humanity to apply formulation once or twice an afternoon once you merely will not be able to get living house? heavily human beings. you quite are not doing god's artwork merely when you consider which you feed the baby for sure extremely of making use of formulation." Im not likely to hardship with this when you consider which you for sure have not any thought what's it like switching a toddler from bottle to breast and then back back. and how it outcomes the mother's furnish.

It depends on your jurisdiction. We Americans are sometimes closed minded about breastfeeding in public, and nudity in general. (Don't bash me)
