Mine seems to be quiet, then have more gas and a little louder. Not bad... just a off and on with the soft and then the louder sound? Nothing extreme

A little difference in RPMs (jump of about 25 rpms) is no big deal, but anything more should be taken care of. You might have to have your throttle body cleaned and rebuild...or best yet, take your car in for a tune up.

Most times your vehicle will idle higher when your A/C or defroster is on.This is normal. It should stop surging when you turn those off. If thats not the case your idle air control valve could be malfunctioning.

It may gain or lose some rpms just sitting there. Cooling fans may kick on and put more pull on the engine, or the AC may be cycling on and off, this would cause the engine to gain and lose rpm's also. good luck.
