I was a triplet in utero when my brother and sister were reabsorbed. I do knowthat I have vanishing twin disease already but recently I learned of chimera twins ( 1 person w/2 sets of dna) Does anyone know how I can figure out if i am my own twin w/o getting a Dna test?

Chimerism happens VERY early in the womb, before any other embryos would have been detected. If your brother and sister were old enough to be detected by ultrasound (at least 5 weeks), your cells would have already been developed enough to resist any sort of meshing of sibling cells. So basically, when they died, their cells were either absobed in your mother's bloodstream or washed out with normal vaginal discharge. If for some reason you were a chimera, it would have to be from another embryo that meshed with you very early on, before your siblings ever died.

If this is true, you are normal and your brother and sister were the vanishing twins. So you would NOT have a disease. In other words, bluntly, they both died and you didnt. Ths liklihood of your having two distinct cell lines is very low. If you are normal and healthy in all other ways, then this would be an extremely remote possibility. But the only way to evaluate your genetic make up is to have an expensive blood test.

The only way would be for you to have DNA tests. They would need to take many many samples from different places to see if there were 2 DNA samples. They would want tissue samples, hair samples, blood, etc etc...
