I wrte a lot of songs, music and lyrics. Before you can write anything you have to know what you wnat to say. Who is it for? What do you want to tell this person? Or is it just a love song in general? The chorus to one of the songs I wrote for my husband goes like this:

You are my lover, You are my friend
You are the one on whom I depend
My greatest pleasure is being with you
And no one could love you as much as I do.

You have to open your heart and mind, the rest will come.

Here is a start you finish it.

My days were dark and long
I spent one million alone
But I never once stopped loving you.

Then today when you came back my patience was rewarded
for I never once stopped loving you.
No I never once stopped believen that we would love again the way we used to do.

You start new verse here.

Just write anything that pops into your head when you think the word 'love' without thinking. Then, edit, refine, etc.

ok here:

I Believe In A Thing Called Love

Can't explain all the feelings that you're making me feel
My heart's in overdrive and you're behind the steering wheel.

Touching you, touching me
Touching you, cause you're touching me

I believe in a thing called love
Just listen to the rhythm of my heart
There's a chance we could make it now
We'll be rocking 'til the sun goes down
I believe in a thing called love
Ooh! Huh!

I wanna kiss you every minute, every hour, every day
You got me in a spin but everything is "A" O.K!

Touching you, touching me
Touching you cause you're touching me

I believe in a thing called love
Just listen to the rhythm of my heart
There's a chance we could make it now
We'll be rocking 'til the sun goes down
I believe in a thing called love
Ooh! Guitar!

Touching you, touching me
Touching you, cause you're touching me, ooow

I believe in a thing called love
Just listen to the rhythm of my heart
There's a chance we could make it now
We'll be rocking 'til the sun goes down
I believe in a thing called love
Ooh!

I can try. I write songs, poems in my spare time. I wouldn't mind giving it a shot. Let me know.

Tell the truth, sing what you know, you'll connect not only to the song, but to the audience better.
