I recently bought a 2002 word focus and there is an after market anti theft system built in it with a remote. The FCC id is on the back of it but the FCC ID search isnt working on the FCC website, its down i guess. Any suggestons on sites i can go to to figure out exactly how this thing works?

Your best bet is taking your Focus to a reputable installer of aftermarket 12 volt electronics. They will most likely be able to either look at the remote or the alarm module, usually located under the dash. The FCC id only pertains to the radio frequency used by the transmitter. Very generic info.

First, I would try the previous owner, if known. If not look for any documentation that may have been left in the glove box.
Finally, I would look under the dash and try and find the name on the control box, and hopefully, the model number. good luck
