is it because justice can be a real ***** sometimes?

for those that don't know what i am talking about.

Justice is represented as a blindfolded woman holding a sword and a scale.

The blindfold represents that justice is blind and will treat everyone the same.

The sword represents that justice is swift and sharp when delivering punishment.

The scales represent that justice is balanced and will behave fairly and remain neutral to all who stand before her.

crackerhtr,

You really seem to think that white people are evil. How do you justify your hatred while chastizing others for showing theirs?

Actually, the original representations of Lady Justice were a woman who was NOT blindfolded. The original ideas were that Lady Justice could weight the evidence and "see" the truth of the matter. Any person who thinks that a judge does not harbor some form of prejudices as a result of their life experiences is a fool and has never appeared in front of a judge. Most judges are professional enough to put their personal feelings to the side while sitting on the bench, but this is always going to be an issue.

Because, it's probably the people who commissioned the piece in the first place thought that a blindfolded female holding a sword in one hand and a scale in the other was hot.

My theory is because we can be fair and don't let ego get in the way.

But apparently "Lady Justice" is based on ancient cultures in Rome, Greece and Egypt who had Goddesses of Justice.

That's because women are known for equality.
"In times of trouble, the spirit of Justice appears before women and offers them the chance to take revenge on their male abusers."
