Why should she be allowed to drive drunk and deliberately disobey a court order? Because she is rich? Please!! No she should not go to jail for 45 days, she should go for 90-180 days just like an average citizen would who committed her offense and is in contempt of court.

Because Paris Hilton is a gazillionaire, she thinks she is what's called ABOVE THE LAW, meaning that she's way too important to be jailed for breaking the law. Problem is, she dares the cops to arrest her by ignoring the warnings and punishments the first ~TWO~ times she broke the law driving.
She and her mom don't think they should have to obey laws like the rest of us. This alone, makes the 45 day sentence nowhere near enough. She will never learn the laws apply to her also. She grew up a rich pampered brat, don't expect because she's an adult, that she will act like one. She doesn't think she has to. She expects teenyboppers to worship her.

Most certainly! Is there a 'LAW' divided.... if you are a star or just an american citizen. I thought it was rather DUMB on her part not to read the terms of her probation herself! Someone said wonder if she gets hurt in jail! Well ,wonder if she kills someone behind the wheel drunk. I have no pity on her. She thinks she can do as she pleases and she does not have to obey the law! As we all know 'STARS' get by with murder. So, I guess if she kills someone she will go free with the others!
Oh, and by the way she can take her mother to jail with her. If our mothers would have made the comments she made in court they would have been thrown out!
MARY---to the comment by mary above me a couple of questions.
WE CARE because we are supposed to be citizens of a fair and just government. It is a citizens duty to make sure all freedoms are protected for all. Paris Hilton getting away with something that would land me in jail for longer wold be a clear unjust move by the judicial system.

Why shouldn't she? She broke the law and violated her probation. If any non-celebrity did that, they would certainly go to jail, and a much tougher one than she is going to. Why should she or any other celeb be above the law?
Why people idolize these people is beyond me. All it does is make them think they can do whatever they want and get away with it. Lindsey Lohan is not even old enough to legally drink, and she is allowed to drink openly in bars, and is already an alcoholic. If any other under age person was known to be allowed to drink in bars, the bar would lose their licker license, and she would go to jail, too.
If people would start ignoring these celebs, stop buying the Enquirer, People, etc., then these rich, spoiled, no-talent brats would go away.
Paris does deserve to go to jail! The worst thing is that she has a whole month free, before having to report. What's up with that???

If you don't think she should then I feel sorry for you.
This little ***** got probation for her DUI, drove with a suspended license then tried to LIE about it. The average joe would have got nailed for that, and it's good that poor little Paris did too. She thinks because she's whatever she is that the laws don't apply to her. I'm glad the judge sees differently.
It's time that these hollywood twits get a wakeup call. Celebrities are for the most part immoral and self-serving. Celebrities are not to be idolized. To me, they are as useful as a urinary tract infection. Police officers, soldiers, firefighters, EMT/Paramedics, doctors, scientists, etc are people that should be looked up to and recieve pay that the hollywood twits are getting.
Come to think of it, the little spoiled **** should get 6 months in jail.

No, she should go for three years.
Paris was discharged from the criminal justice system, subject to three years' probation. She wilfiully disregarded the terms of her probation, demonstrating unvarnished contempt for soceity as a whole and for the legal system in particular.
She can't stay sober? Easily fixed, she goes inside and AA meetings will be a blessing.
She's out of control? A locked room does wonders for that.
She's out of touch? The ladies inside will correct that. Martha admits that her cohorts made a difference in her life. It'll be no different for Paris. Even the hardest-boiled egg can be cracked, and Paris is not a hard-boiled egg. She's a whiny wannabe and time--substantial time--would do her and the rest of us a great deal of good.

If it was you and with the citations Paris Hilton has received , you would be sitting in jail. She is not better than you or I. She needs to understand the Laws and abide by them. Rich people are not more privilege then the poor. Un-fortunately, the poor people can not pay their fines. When they can't pay their fines they are denied drivers license, boat license, and a severe judgment is held against them. The rich have no problems paying their fines, but they need to sit in jail when they disobey the laws.

Why shouldn't she? She fail to comply with a court order, if you or I did this there wouldn't be any question, we'd be serving time at the local jail. Just because she's famous why shouldn't she have the same expectations as everyone else?

She definitely should! Why should a celebrity receive special treatment? Especially in her case, since she really shows no remorse for what she's done - I mean, blaming it on your publicist? Come on... Maybe being in jail for 45 days without all her luxuries might, just might, do her some good!

no count if she ought to or shoudn't would not easily count. She WONT have been given to penitentiary. she gets sturdy behaviour bond and alcohol ban and consistent with hazard community provider. Celebs continuously get off, till she does it returned then its to penitentiary she is going. i comprehend the court could say that she is being taken care of like each and every person else, yet i'm no longer so specific. ability and impression can get you places! She is a stupid head and could learn a lesson, yet, do no longer carry your breath!
