Your first priority is to find a better home for the glofish. These fish are a Danio species. Danios are well known for being among the more active of the community fishes. That and the fact that they are a good 2-3" fully grown and the fact that they like to school with other danios means that they should have a tank with a lot of length so they can zoom about the tank. An ideal home is a 20 gallon long tank.
When a fish is kept in a setting that is too small, the health issues are unavoidable. Ammonia build-up poisons the fish and the lack of space interferes with growth.
As far as goldfish go, they are coldwater pond fish. Because of their size and water preferences they do not belong with danios. Fancy gold fish are the smallest, most reaching about 8"! They are also way more wasteful than most fish. They need a huge tank(think 55 gallons for just one fancy).
Keeping freshwater aquariums is not difficult however it does require a bit of knowledge about chemistry and ecology. However, the rewards of a beautiful tank are well worth it.

The 1 gallon tank is actually too small for 1 GloFish. The only fish suitable to a one gallon is a betta.
If you're looking to upgrade your tank, I'd advise more danios. They are a schooling fish and do best when they can "school" (groups of 5 or more) They are a zebra danio that's been genetically altered to be fluorescent and can be a match with anything that can go with the zebras:
The GloFish should be kept in groups of 6 and is compatible with Bala Shark, Betta (Siamese Fighting), Black Neon Tetra, Black Skirt Tetra, Bleeding Heart Tetra, Blind Cave Tetra, Bloodfin, Bosemani Rainbow, Buenos Aires Tetra, Cherry Barb, Chinese Algae Eater, Clown Loach, Colombian Tetra, Congo Tetra, Corydoras Catfish, Croaking Gourami, Diamond Tetra, Dwarf Gourami, Dwarf Neon Rainbow, Emperor Tetra, Fancy Goldfish, Featherfin Squeaker, Flame Tetra, Flying Fox, Gardneri Killifish, Head-and-Tail-Light Tetra, Kissing Gourami, Kribensis, Kuhli Loach, Lemon Tetra, Molly, Otto Catfish, Pearl Gourami, Penguin Tetra, Platy, Pleco (Common), Pristella Tetra, Rainbow Shark, Red Base Tetra, Red Eye Tetra, Red Tailed Shark, Rosy Barb, Rummynose Tetra, Serpae Tetra, Siamese Algae Eater, Silver Dollar, Silver Tip Tetra, Sparkling Gourami, Swordtail, Three Spot Gourami, Tiger Barb, Tin Foil Barb, Upsidedown Catfish, Zebra Danio

I have mollies, blood nose tetras, cory, freshwater flounder, and some small gray fish that kinda look like koi but aren't koi. My biggset mollie sometimes bullies my 2 glofish. I have a red and yellow ones. My yellow one is the smallest so my other fish pick on that one more So you'll have to watch your fish if their bigger than him. You will problay want to get a bigger tank. I have all my fish in a 25 gal.

If it is that small, then add another glo-fish and nothing else. 1 inch of fish per 1 gallon of water is recommended. So with a 1 gallon tank and 2 1-inch fish, you're overstocked, but you can get away with it.

I really would suggest 2-3 additional glofish as they do much prefer being in a group. Add them 1 per week to prevent additional problems.

I wouldn't add any more.
They grow to about 2-3 inches, and it's a small tank.
GloFish are just genetically enhanced Zebra Danios.
Danios are schooling fish, so, if you got a bigger tank, I suggest getting Zebra Danios.

if your tank is only a one gallon tank i won't recommend any more fish. this web site lists the amount of fish you can put in a tank. if the tank is bigger you could put cory's maybe as long its a smaller variety
