1500Kbps ÷ 1024 = 1.46Mbps (~1.5Mbps)

Much faster, 13 times faster in fact.

ADSL2+ is essentially the fastest consumer grade internet available, and can go up to 24Mbps (although that depends on a lot of things). 1.5Mbps ADSL is garden variety internet which can go up to 8Mbps.

It is simple arithmetic. Is 20 million more than 15 million?
Mbps is megabits whereas k is abbreviation for thousand. Actually they are both binary denotations.

M = million
k = thousand
