This is called slander. If you can prove that the person who is slandering you is causing you distress (physical, mental, emotional - this means doctors statements, hospital visits, etc.), causing you to loose or about to loose a job (again, you need proof from your employer), or loose customers from your business (proof), then you might have a case. The reality is - proving this is difficult. You have several choices - 1) you and your husband can arrange to meet her and demand that she stop her lies 2) you can write her a letter requesting the same 3) you can ignore her and eventually, she will find someone else to bother. Sometimes, the more you allow her to get to you - the more she will continue. If you ignore her, she will probably just go away. The main thing is - you and your husband must stay strong and provide a unity and a bond that is unbreakable. If she is "stalking" - you do have immedate relief from that - your husband can file a petition with the court requestiing that she stay away from him.

Contact an attorney and have them send a letter to her telling her you will sue for defamation of character if she doesn't stop spreading rumors. Just be sure you have all your facts and proof in case you need them for court ~ hearsay doesn't always count as proof so be sure and get a list of questions together for the lawyer before going to see them to save time.

Why do you want to bother? You are feeding the fire, you need to learn how to laugh in her face. I find the best liars always try to blame their guilt on the innocent. I'm sure, depending on the lies, you can stop her. It's called a gag order. Remember, you know the truth, and Karma plays her games, there isn't anything you need to do, it just happens when her stories back fire.

Consult a lawyer for what pertains to your state laws.

I would just let it go and see if she will stop eventually.
The more u rant and rave about it the more she is going to do something. But you can take it to court if you want to.

If there is a problem with stalking you should inform the police and have a restraining order on her !

You can have her charged with trespassing also.

you need witnesses to prove your case. It might cause you more pain than gain because you will be reviving your trauma until they reach a decision. If I were you, I would ignore her. She probably is not worth it.

I'm not sure but you just need to ignore her. Get a lawyer or something and see what he says.
