First: multiply the whole number with the fraction.

(150)(1/3)

Sec: convert the whole number into a fraction > place 150 over 1.

(150/1)(1/3)

Third: combine the fractions.

150/3
= 50 bags

50.

Because you keep 1/3 of the 150 bags, the equation would look like:

(1/3) * 150

This is similar to 150 divided by 3.

150 / 3 = 50 bags.
