You can be any age to work in film. A lot of the time for PG movies they need young actors and actresses. It also helps if you live a place where a lot of film work is being done...
It could be a way to boost your confidence but it might be overwhelming. (seeing all those incredibly talented people) The best way to boost your confidence to find something that you are passionate about and it sound like you have done that. Also be yourself.
Another way to get experience is to be in student films at colleges in your city.
Usually auditions for these can be found on sites such as craigslist.com
Usually you do not get paid for student films but they provide great experience and most of the time, a copy of the film and food the days the project is going.
Hope that helps!

You must live in a city, such as Los Angeles or New York City, where movies are frequently filmed.

Ask your actor friends and acting teacher for names of Casting Agents that book Extras for movies.

Movies and tv shows use actors of all ages.

Officially, there is no age limit to becoming an extra. If you really want to become an actor, ask around to people that are already in the business. While I do not know much about this, but from my previous conceptions, those who can network (or know people within the business - in your case acting) will do better. In other words, my best advice to you is to begin to talk to people about your goals and try to find out as much as you can. Good luck!

extras usually dont do anything. They just stand there anynomously in a crowd. it gives you a peek of what it is like. they shoot the same scene like 5 billion times. as far as age i think all you have to do is show up and do what they tell you. Its fun and u can always say you were in a movie. and who knows you might even bump into a famous person.
