I have a machete, but there are just too many vines, and I don't have too much money....could I use a small fire and gasoline to clear it out or are there other ways. Possibly chemicals to kill the vines and plants.....I need to do it in one day, by tomorrow....Thank You.

By all means do NOT use fire!! Not unless you want smokey bear up your... umm.. well..
Seriously, fire controlled burning is just way too dangerous to mess with, and put quite simply.. stupid to risk - with all the other factors that could go wrong. Imagine that getting out of control and being responsible for a HUGE out of control fire.
Even if you sprayed chemicals on the vines, it takes a few days to kill them. (next time, try using some bags of driveway de-icing salt in buckets of water - salt will kill anything)
With little pocket money and time.. elbow grease and a sharp blade is your ONLY way to get rid of it by tomorrow. Sharpen that machette! If not - hope you have a rich relative to bail you out, and homeowners insurance paid up!

I would NOT reccomend the fire, as you are in a forest. If it falls out of your control, you could injure someone, not to mention the arson case against you. I would reccomend you try to rent a brush cutter, which is like a weed eater. If you can't find one, you'd better use your money to get your friends machetes, too. However you do it, you will only be clearing the top half. you should now go ahead and spray the area you cleared with round-up or another herbicide in order to keep your hard work from being undone in a short while. Next, if you want it to last for a while, you should dig it up about a foot or so and place a liner: most of the vines you just cleared got there not from seeds, but from roots of pre-existing vines. this liner will help prevent most of them.

I had that problem. I knew a fellow who had goats and I put them in the place I wanted cleared. I used a strong collar and chain (real strong). They cleared the path fast. Don't leave them unprotected from wild animals.

If you use a match. Don't catch the woods on fire.

Round Up is a product that will kill any plant right down to its roots. I works fast and you only need a small amount.
