If you have it in your area "The Dollar Tree" has a huge collection of scrapbooking supplies. Books, pages, paper, pens, punches, stickers, letters, and little adhesive bumps. I was pretty impressed. You should be able to get yourself started with a nice basic set of supplies. Good luck and happy scrapbooking!

You don't have to spend a lot of money to start scrapbooking. You can start with less than $30.00, but be careful, scrapbooking is an addictive hobby. I use to work at an arts and craft store and I saw a few people who would spend hundreds of dollars in scrapbooking supplies. One lady actually spend around $600.00

It would depend on how much you want to do. When I was a kid we just had a scapebook with leather binding and thick sheets. we would collect the things most precious to us and glue them in. We would use letters from magazines for our captions. Real cheap but there are now specialized scrapbooking stores as well as stuff offered at target or walmart. you can go as cheap or expensive as you want.

The hobby can become addictive to some. I would start out small add to the things need bit by bit, see if u like it. basic tools such as scissors , cutters glue, tape and templates can be purchased at most craft shop or dept stores. that what did. eventually finding out that CM tools where the best, so are their albums, but i found their methods to not creative enough some times. I have found TLC products now, they encourage the hobbyist like you and me, but now save money doing it. yes the do have digital as well. take a look at

Hi,
you can start scrapbooking with almost no money...a pair of scissors, a few used greetings cards and some glue, etc., can set you on your way.
Watch 'Create and Craft' on satellite T.V. it will give you hundreds of inexpensive ideas.
Of course, it can become compulsive and you can end up spending lots of money on stickers, decoupage items, borders and so on...but to start all you need is the very basic items and some imagination,
Good Crafting...I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

For me it would be about 5 bucks for an album and maybe another 5 bucks for colored pencils. I like to do everything from scratch, using recycled materials like magazine pages, old greeting cards, paper napkins, et cetera. If you're truly creative, use scizzors instead of special punches, and cut out your own letters and decorations. You can even use scraps of fabric from old clothes.
