Shahid Afridi has never been a permanent player in the Pakistan Team after the earlier tide in his carrer. He has not matured as a player and not as a team member.

After Inzamam, people will expect a capatain to follwo his good work. So a more matured player must lead the team.

Captain must be both defensive and attacking and must be able to adopt to the situations. He must be animated and must be able to bring his team members as a unit.

A captain must be a player who is good in both forms of the game. A test player wil make a good captain because the real essence of cricket is in Test matches.

Obviously, Afridi doesnt match even single criteria and so there is no point in thinking to make him as Pakistan's Captain. Definitely not for a team like Pakistan which has more good players than Afridi. Younis Khan or Mohammed Yousuf will be a good choice.

There's 2 ways you can look at this: 1. Afridi having the captaincy will make him more responsible which will mean he will contribute more to the team. 2.Afridi doesn't deserve the captaincy because of his irresponsible behaviour on and off the field. However I think it goes deeper than that. Afridi is the longest standing servent in the Pakistani team. He has played 300+ ODI's and he has seen it all, every situation possible in the ODI game. Afridi has experience and is a leader in the team. These 2 factors are the most important when judging a captain. Afridi should be captain

Afridi is waaaaay to careless to be captain, or even vice captain. Though Shoaib Malik is less experienced than Shahid Afridi, he will still make a better captain because of his thinking and batting talent.

I do not think so as he is a temperamental person with arrogant attitude. I feel Abdul Razaak should be an ideal choice for vice captaincy.
