Congradulations on your first period!I started when I was 13, which is pretty old actually. However, the normal range of it is about 8-15 years, so you're perfectly normal.

As a healthcare provider I can tell you that the average age of starting menstruation is 13. But eleven is not too young.

Mine started when I was 12, and then it didn't begin again until I was 13. Sometimes when you are young, it's not regular. And you're pretty normal because most girls get their periods around 12, so 11 is in the normal range.

I personally started when I was 14 but I now have 2 daughters ages 13 and 15 and my 15 yr old started right after she turned 12 and my 13 yr old started when she was 12. Starting at an early age has alot to do with genetics, when did your mom start? Her sisters? It seems that these things start earlier and earlier these days. Don't stress over them just make sure you take good care of yourself and please please know even at your age you can get pregnant when your on your period if you have sex, you can get pregnant even if the boy pulls out and you can get pregnant the first time you have sex.

You can start pretty early, just your hormones. I'm getting old now, lol, I don't even remember how old I was when I started. But my daughter is 12 and she hasn't gotten hers yet. Anyways, congrats, you are becoming a young lady.

Well, I had mine when I was 13 in December (I'm almost 15 now)
So, you're a little earlier, but yeah. 11 is perfectly normal though.
