I enjoy a sincere compliment. I might be taken in by flattery at some point, but there is usually a light bulb going off in my head wondering where it's leading, and when the person will finally get to what it is that they want.
I'm a bit skeptical that way, but I don't like being manipulated in this way and I especially don't like people who think they are smart enough to manipulate me this way.

I am. Someone makes me feel good with flattery and it honestly makes me look at them a little differently. Then, I do try to not let it go to my head and see if they are speaking what they truly think or what they think I want to hear.

Flattery embarrases me and makes me uncomfortable. Anything I do, I do from my heart and I don't expect thanks or praise for it. But it's nice to know that people think well of you.

To a point. It's more efficient if it is or seems sincere, and if it's from someone whose opinion matters to me. You have to make me believe it.
