Not true.
When i was about 20, i heard that i had one in another city.
Then after about 5 years of hearing it from various people, my girl ran into this guy in a club and thought it was me.
She was upset thinking that I was chasing other girls.
I was actually on stage playing at a jazz club and her brother was watching me jam.
I went with her the next week to see this guy and let me tell you, we looked identical. We even had the same taste in cloths. I even phoned my mom and asked if I had a twin she gave up for adoption.
Seriously freaky stuff

Don't know if I would want to meet my doppelganger. I like to think I'm the only me around here if I started thinking that way I might end up in the mental hospital. : )

Last time I checked I was still alive. It is un-nerving. At a children's birthday party I met my doppelgänger. Same length hair and very similar clothes. But ut didn't stop there. I was fascinated by that fact that her gestures and body language were almost exactly the same as mine.
We subsequently met on a couple of festive occasions (weddings) and although I had bought my clothes in Switzerland and she lived in England, we turned up in almost identical outfits.

Oh. I didn't know I was supposed to die. I ran into my exact double at the craft store on Monday and I'm not dead as far as I know. After looking her over closely, though, I have decided to improve my posture and buy better clothes. She showed me what other people see when they look at me.

No. It doesn't work that way.
Actually, you are almost never likely to see your doppleganger. They don't exist side by side with you, but rather exchange places with you.
Think of the show Heroes. It's basically like that, but not quite.

I have heard that that is true. So, if you saw your double, it would already be too late and you would not be able to hide, only die.

I would actually be shocked but totally go and meet them. I know I won't die.

I'd have to say hello just to see if the myth was true or not... curiosity killed the cat.
