It's the summer, so I won't be in school.

I believe that you have to have a work permit to work while your in school. Also Old Navy can't work you more than I believe it's 30 hrs. while your in school. I ho[pe that helps.

Yes, you do need a work permit for the summer! However, if you aren't in school during the summer, then you can work 40 hours a week. Once you go back to school, you may only work 20.

goto www.state.in.us and the find your states department of labor. They'll have all the information you need there, including if they have to give you meal breaks and/or "coffee" breaks.

If IN has no restrictions, then goto www.dol.gov for the US Department of Labor, there you'll find the federal restrictions for someone your age. Businesses have to follow whichever is more restrictive of Federal or State law.

For example

1)State law doesn't say how late you can work, but Federal law does, in this case your company would have to follow the federal law.
2)State law says that you can work no more then 20 hours a week while out of school, while federal law says no more then 40 while out of school. In this case State law would be what has to be followed.

Note that in both those examples I made up restrictions to show examples. Follow what you find on the two websites I gave you.

I think if you dont go to school then you can work up to 20-25hrs but if you go to school then it only 15hrs, at least in Seattle it is.
