I can't stand people who hate their own heritage much like those "you don't speak for me" people. People completely forget where they come from, one person said to me "Mexico sucks." but he looks more Mexican than I do. People come here and become "patriots" but all they do is forget.

Matt, the cities you mentioned would have to be compared to Detroit or Oakland so shut the hell up because you know nothing about Mexico.

So you're white? And you want to remember and honor your heritage? Well, then, do you actually know all about your heritage, or are you under the impression that you're just a "good ole American"?

The fact of the matter is that individuality is far more important than race, culture, etc...
While it's beneficial to acknowledge and appreciate one's race, culture, etc..., it is far more important for a person to be whomever that person wants to be. I'm what is commonly referred to as ''white''. In your opinion, who do you think I should be? And, if what you think I should be makes me unhappy, why shoud I be that person?

People should do whatever makes them satisfied and fulfilled. And if that includes embracing a culture that they weren't born and raised in, so be it. This doesn't mean they are "heritage haters". It simply means that they are doing what makes them happy.

By the way, I disagree with whoever told you that Mexico "sucks". And that comment was a very prejudiced one. However, the appearance of that person is not necessarily an indication that he is Mexican. There are very different looking people all over the world.

Umm..thats a diffucult question. I'm 14 as well but Mexican American. I have to admit,I do feel ashamed sometimes because people look down on us hispaics as a lower class. Or like Cinco de mayo, hanging Mexican flags on ghetto cars, thats embarrasing. Or at school the kids who dress like hootchies or dress in skin tight clothes are usually hipanics or that sag their pants or try to be gangsters. It makes me sad so I try to be different and prove them wrong and that not all mexicans are the same. I try to make our reputation better but when I try doing that they call me gringa or pinche culera estas loca debes de estar orgullosa! I AM PROUD OF BEING MEXICAN AMERICAN. I want to go to college become a doctor and find the cure for cancer. Hahaha the cure will be found by a Mexican you just wait and see. Its ok dude you're not alone, Im proud too. email me if you want.=]laterz-tere

Genetic studies have revealed that every human on Earth has descended from an African origin about 60,000 years ago.
If we could all move beyond our own ignorance, beyond the artificial barriers of color, language, religion, nationality, and all the other reasons for "hates", what a wonderful World we could make! Imagine...
Sadly, as Pogo said - "we have met the enemy, and he is us!"

i'm an asian chick, so i assume this grow to be a setup for ME, lol. ok! at the start, that first chick grow to be merely incorrect. that's in comparison to that. If i grow to be nevertheless residing in oppressed, infant-beating, and conservative Korea, then i might think of that it grow to be all favourite and strengthen up, marry a spouse beater and beat my very own young ones, by fact i grow to be raised in that way of existence. yet I got here to usa, the place all and sundry is unfastened, study history that's probable greater uncensored than an Asian united states of america and think of for ourselves-quickly, residing here, I comprehend that - no offence - the Asian way of existence is in order that f**ked up; they have achieved some tremendously undesirable issues and that they nevertheless bypass around with a grin, nevertheless beating their infants. to respond to your question, i assume it quite is that we've come to a priviledged united states of america and comprehend how undesirable our lives must be back in our united states of america. yet what incredibly pisses us off is all those wannabee-Asians insulting us with their utter lack of expertise, often on purpose.

there is nothing wrong with having pride about your ancestry, but there is nothing wrong with having pride about your home either.

I think it is weird when mexican bred people have a hard time saying "Mexico Sucks."

White people have no problem saying, "Europe Blows." Maybe it is just a cultural thing.....

well...mexico does suck. would you rather they lie and say that it is awesome and the US cannot compare to tijuana or mexico city? come on. that would be like a black person saying how wonderful life must be in africa or haiti, or a white person talking up bulgaria.
