First you would have to have proper working uniforms which were easy to keep clean and smart and let any visitors know that you were just a lowly servant. You would be taught that you show respect to anyone in the house who is superior to you which would of course be anyone who lived there or visited. this you would do by curtsying when summoned by them or when you reported to them or if you received any instructions or orders. You would have list of daily tasks and times when they should be done. These would include cleaning, dusting, tidying, making beds. laundry, ironing, preparing meals, serving them, clearing and washing up. There would be servant bells in each room to summon you with and all your work would be inspected. If anything was not up to the standard required or had taken too long you would be punished. Short and sharp with a strap on your buttocks hard enough to remind you not to offend again. In the evenings and weekends when not attending to your duties you would be required to stand at some convenient place where you could be observed but not be in the way so if you were required for any reason you could be immediately summoned by the servants bell. For the whole month your only reason to exist would be to please and serve your betters

Wash the dishes, clean the hardwood floors, buy groceries, etc. I wouldn't let you do my laundry because it's personal and I think it's gross to do someone's else laundries. I wouldn't be a really mean boss. I would invite you to eat dinner with and go shopping!
