How can I sell ideas to a company? I don't have the resources or patience to begin my own company so I'd rather make an existing company successful (for a cut of course). How can I do this? How could I prevent a company from just stealing my idea after disclosing it to them?

You can't. You cannot patent or copyright an idea.

Start by contacting the company and see if and how they deal with freelancers. Some of the bigger companies may already have programs in place. I not, ask for a meeting and bring a tape recorder with you.

Cover your bases. Keep dates, papers, names and everything that could be used in court to prove it was your idea, in the event you need to use it.
