How many recent movies has she played a neurotic control freak upper-crust mom who likes to make everyone watch her sing?
It's time for her to stop riding on the elitist wave and do something with heart and stamina.

if you want more variety, see some of her earlier work, preferably without Woody Allen. try Reds with Warren Beatty.
i'm just the messenger here so don't blame me--but she is an older actress in Hollywood. she can still get work playing characters of this type so i say go for it.
not to mention the fact that she does it so well. she's one actress i know i can rely on for a few laughs when she is on screen. i find her as delightful now as when i saw her in Annie Hall.

get to do whatever you want.
Maybe she just hasn't found it yet.
