WE CAN'T!
I distinctly remember Bush saying that our troops would not be on a Nation building mission!!
So we should have had our troops home in 2003 after "Mission Accomplished"!

Good question. I don't see the point of building back up the war torn areas. Not that I want the people to suffer. Unfortunately, there are always innocent victims during war. We are already in such deeeeeeeep debt with people in our own country who need help. It's like saying, "Okay, we're gonna come over there and blow the crap out of your country, and let you kill off our most precious resource (our TROOPS!), but then we'll put a bandaid on it and make it all better." Makes no sense to me.
I'm certain that N.O. is being rebuilt, just probably at a much slower pace than anyone had hoped. Remember, that place was basically wiped from the map and will take years and years to completely rebuild.

We can't rebuild Iraq and nor should we have to... but now that Bush has sent us in there and we have created a mess.. of course American taxpayers are going to have to foot the bill.
It is interesting tho.. we have not even cleaned up the disasters here at home, yet Bush felt we should just take off for Iraq on a wild WMD chase, said it would only take a short time.. and here we are trillions of dollars spent and no end in sight.
Maybe Bush and his rich family would like to pay for it all.

American Foreign Policy really isn't a "fallacy". Fallacies require assertions, arguments, or notions. Fallacy is better identified with logic, syllogisms, etc.
New Orleans is 13 miles below sea level. Why the hell should it be rebuilt? It's just going to happen again in the future due to a hurricane or, according to Al Gore, it will be under water by the end of the decade anyways.

We are rebuilding New Orleans, because some people got stupid doesn't mean nothing is being done. Buloxi is being rebuilt as well, but I guess no one else hit by Katrina matters Nice to know that in the thousands of square miles and millions displaced that New Orleans is the only place that matters. But don't worry, it is still being rebuilt.

The rebuilding of New Orleans is up to the people of New Orleans. Here in the US, we have a culture that fosters personal responsibility, not utter dependence on the government.
However, I suppose if we stop feeding and funding every third world country on the planet, we might have enough money to rebuild New Orleans on pylons, instead of allowing it to stay below sea level.
And why do you use the term "we"? You aren't even in the US!

Between the corruption at the state and local level they will never get the funding straight. And the fact that the people don't seem to interested in rebuilding as it would require manual, physical labor, so they are waiting for everybody else in the country to come and do it. Amazing how other states bounce right back. And how are we suppose to rebuild Iraq when the democrats won't even financially support our own troops. Why don't you try questions that don't get everybody on your case?

Its clear that New Orleans is not a priority for our government. But what money they could corrupt in a faux attempt to rebuild it was spent/diverted to special companies from Jeb Bush.

Couple of reasons;
1. Iraq is above sea level.
2. Iraq is worth rebuilding.
It's OK, we laugh at the world too, with their rationalized cowardice, impotence and corruption. Pretending to value international consensus, while at the same time cutting their own deals with our mutual enemies. Desperately trying to be relevant. Hiding behind the U.N., like they can protect you. now that's funny.

Who cares what any other country thinks? I sure don't. New Orleans is being rebuilt. I didn't see anything in your question about Mississippi or Texas though........or is it that N.O is the only city that matters? The Governor of Louisiana is incompetent and so is Ray Nagin. Remember all those wasted school buses?

look who's in charge, it will never get rebuilt. you think the war is a money maker for politicians? every politician in Louisiana is getting richer by the day. we pump money in there and I bet 8 out of every 10 dollars goes to waste (personal opinion is 10 out of 10).
