I'm sitting here inbetween two ideas,
One, do what's right, never wrong, God will free us.
No mistakes, no hate, only love, all it takes.
Do what's good, and God will make good everything that breaks.
Then there's two, it's you, you're all that ever is.
Life is what you make of it, and everything you wish,
Will come from one thing, hard work, no God.
Live life long, grow strong, move on.

Thanks for the comment Sage.

I'd just like to make it clear that although I am an atheist, I'm not making a statement with the poem. I'm simply expressing the basic idea of each philosophy.

Feel free to disagree with that though!

I am a Christian and understand your poem, yet do not fully agree with it. I know from personal experience there is a GOD, and an existance beyond this earthly one. But poetry is an expression of the poet, so there really are no rights or wrongs. It is an extension of yourself at the present.

God doesn't expect anyone to be perfect. That's why He sent His only son to die for us on the cross. So that our sins might be forgiven. I commend you for being honest with yourself and for asking the questions that need to be asked.
