He is letting down the team often and does not justify the confidence Dravid and some of the fans have in him.If he fails to deliver a few months lay-off should be imposed.

Yes definitely Sehwag should be dropped from the team for 6 months or maybe even more till the time he regains his form. Theres no point in wasting time by continuing to persist with him when hes out of form. I think Sachin and Sourav would be a much better combination for opener's slot than Sehwag. Their left hand- right hand combinaton makes it difficult for the bowlers in the initial overs. Besides they have vast experience behind them..............they've opened the batting for the team in the past and they have the records to prove it........................ Hope Mr. Dilip Vengsarkar is listening

Going by his recent successive dismal performances, I would prefer to see Sehwag dropped for a short time (6 months as you suggest or as long as he takes to return to form and consistency). He can brush up his skills and correct his errors playing domestic cricket during this period of lay off and then return to the national team with confidence. Such a step worked wonderfully for Saurav Ganguly. It should ideally work for Sehwag too. Sachin and Saurav used to be a great opening pair till the inept Gregg Chapell tinkered with the system. They can fill up Sehwag's slot during his period of absence. Given a chance, these greats will have a point to prove as well.

Well,Sehwag needs to be dropped for sure. But I thought that was the case with Sachin too?
It's high time Sehwag saw the word perform in his dictionary. He thinks about big bucks all the time and I'm sure he'll end up gettin nothing unless he plays. He heeds to be dropped for a couple or tours and made to play in the domestic circuit. If he plays, pick him.If he doesn't give him some more time.Even then,if it's pathetic, drop him forever.

The reason why he is still persisted with is that if he stays at the wicket for couple of overs he can score the runs at brisk rate and he can also be used as a part time bowler for couple of overs. However, if he does not regain his form and play some useful knocks, he should be dropped and Robin Uthappa should be given a chance to open the innings along with Gautam Gambhir.

Like they say a dog's tail cannot be straightened however much one might try, any amount of counselling, advice etc is not going to change Sehwag style of batting and he will only continue to frustrate the team's plans. He has become like the wild goose who was expected to lay golden eggs. Better he be rested for, as you have rightly pointed out, six months.

That is a good idea.
There are many for the opener's slot. Two experienced : Sourav and Sachin
Two new-comers : Gambhir and Uttapa

Sehwag can come back in form any time. That's why he is still there in team.Sachin and Sourav will come back , but not as Sehwag's replacement.

If SEHWAG is dropped it could end his carrier, this could be the reason the selectors and the captain want him in the one dayers so that he can make a come back in all forms of circket.
Give him time he will certainly come back as a match winner for INDIA.
He is never played a selfish innings for himself,he is always played for the country.
To all circket lovers have Patience and faith in VERU,He is too good to deliver.
