I know that copper retards root growth. You might be able to get some sort of copper mesh that would stop them.

There are root barriers, but generally they are designed to stop shallow roots from spreading near the surface. They are usually no wider (tall may be the better term) than about 1 foot. They are usually made of a thick, strong plastic. You can get them at the big-box home improvement stores and garden centers.

You may want to consider getting rid of this particular tree and planting a different kind that has more of a tap root and less aggressive roots.

I've heard of some trees being able to get into sewer pipes and water lines, so if you have a tree that seeks out water like that, you probably are going to have to get rid of it.

Switching to concrete is an option, but you'd best be really happy with having the pond where it is.

Wait until eventually new moon section. Dig a deep hollow precisely the place you will cut back the muse. cut back root it in a 40 5 stages attitude. permit it bleed. because of the fact of this you pick to try this purely in new moon. After it bleeds for twenty-four hours conceal the top with 2 or 3 trash luggage. Tide the luggage with a string to the muse. pass away the hollow open for roughly one week and examine to work out if it drying. pass away hollow open so which you will examine it lower back in yet another week. in case you notice the muse is growing to be new roots under the plastic bag then cut back lower back in a ninety stages attitude, conceal with luggage and cover the hollow lower back with soil. verify to no longer %. a wet day for this job. this might desire to restoration it.
