I myself love to play stud, it is how i first got into poker. But i only used to play 7 card stud, so it may be different from 5 card stud i will have to go and look on-line and see but 7 card stud there is no button in the game, the dealer will start the deal to his left and deal out 2 down cards and one upcard to each player at the table. Most stud games usually have only 6-7 players because there is not enough cards to have 10 or 11 people play. Stud is played in two forms spread limit and fixed limit games, fixed limit games the betting is a specific amount like 2 dollars, and a raise would be to 4 dollars and so on with a cap of a bet and 4 raises. And in later round on 5th street the limit would be 4 dollars, and the cap would be 20 dollars on the round. Now if an open pair is showing on 4th street then a double bet is allowed, so instead of a 2 dollar bet a 4 dollar bet here can be made. And in spread limit the betting is usually 1-5, this means a bet of anywhere between 1 dollar all the way up to 5 dollars is allowed by the players. So if a player raises it up to 4 dollars, you can make it a maximum of 9 dollars. But fixed limit is the most common game so after the cards are dealt a bring bet is made by the lowest door card, So if the door cards were 3-6-7-9-A, the 3 would be the bring in bet, The bring in bet is a forced bet made by the worst hand, so if your limits were 25-50 the bring in would be 10-15 dollars depending on where you play, Players have the option to complete the bet to 25 if they want to, or they can just call the 15 dollar bring in. After the betting is complete you burn and turn giving another up card to each player. The best hand starts the betting after each round now, so if you deal an upcard to a player and he makes lets say a pair of aces, then you would say pair of aces new and high, and he would be the one to start the betting. Always annonce new pairs to all players so they know who is betting. Also on the bring in if there are 2 cards that are the same then the worst suit is the bring in, for example if the up cards are 2-2-5-6-9 then the lowest card brings it is, clubs, dimonds, hearts spades. so if it's 2 of clubs and the two of hearts the 2 of clubs brings it in. you keep dealing and betting till the 7th card, this card is dealt face down, then the hands are turrned up and the winner gets the pot, best 5 cards out of 7 win. There are a lot of rules for stud so it wold take days to explain them all, so good luck.

Texas Hold 'Em (or Texas Holdem) is the primary version of Poker played in many casinos, and it's the version seen on television shows like the Travel Channel's World Poker Tour and ESPN's World Series of Poker.
These are the basic rules for Texas Hold 'Em Poker.
The Shuffle, The Deal and The Blinds
The dealer shuffles a standard 52-card deck.
(In casinos, the dealer never plays. A round disc -- known as a "dealer button" -- moves clockwise from player to player with each hand. The button marks which player would be the dealer if the deal were advanced from player to player as the game went along.)
Most Texas Hold 'Em Poker games start with the two players to the left of the dealer (the button) putting a predetermined amount of money into the pot before any cards are dealt, ensuring that there's something to play for on every hand.

This is called "posting the blinds." Most often, the "first blind" -- the player to the left of the dealer -- puts up half the minimum bet, and the "second blind" puts up the full minimum bet.
Each player is dealt two cards, face down. These are known as the "hole cards."
Betting Begins
A round of betting takes place, beginning with the player to the left of the two who posted the blinds. Players can call, raise, or fold when it's their turn to bet.
The Flop
After the first betting round, the dealer discards the top card of the deck. This is called burning the card and is done to ensure that no one accidentally saw the top card, and to help prevent cheating.
The dealer then flips the next three cards face up on the table. These cards are called the "flop."
NOTE: Eventually, a total of five community cards will be placed face up on the table. Players can use any combination of the community cards and their own two hole cards to form the best possible five-card Poker hand.
After the flop, another round of betting takes place, beginning with the player to the left of the dealer (the button). During this and all future rounds of betting, players can check, call, raise, or fold when it's their turn to bet.
Fourth Street
The dealer burns another card and plays one more face up onto the table. This, the fourth community card, is called the "turn" or "Fourth Street."
The player to the left of the dealer (the button) begins the third round of betting.
Fifth Street
The dealer burns another card before placing the final face-up card on the table. This card is called the "river" or "Fifth Street."
Final Betting and The Winner
Players can now use any combination of seven cards -- the five community cards and the two hole cards known only to them -- to form the best possible five-card Poker hand.
The fourth and final round of betting starts with the player to the left of the dealer (the button).
After the final betting round, all players who remain in the game reveal their hands. The player who made the initial bet or the player who made the last raise shows their hand first.
The player with the best hand wins.
in 5 hand poker...
General Rules
1. Every 5 stud game has a 5 draw variant, so unless the 5 draw variant has an actual name or is not obvious it will not be mentioned in the variants' sections.
2. Many 5 stud games are variants of seven stud games, in these cases, the games are listed on the Seven Stud page.
5 Stud
* Maximum Number of Players: 10
* Wild Cards: None
* The Game:
1. Players are dealt 1 down and 1 up.
2. Bet, then deal 1 card up.
3. Bet, then deal 1 card up.
4. Bet, then deal 1 card down.
5. Bet and show. High hand takes the pot.
* Variants:
o Make a card wild, or lowest card down is wild.
o Deal the last card up.
o 5 Stud Low Ball: Low only.
o 5 Stud High-low: High-Low Split, declare after the last betting round.
o Satan: High-Low Split, pot-limit betting, last card is dealt up, declare after the last betting round. Great game! It can get evil when it comes time to declare if you have a weak pair or nothing with royalty.
o Beelzebub: Same as Satan, but bet after the declare and straights and flushes don't count when evaluating lows. Thus a wheel, namely A-2-3-4-5, is the perfect low. You thought Satan was evil...
o Best Flush: Hands are evaluated as follows (from highest to lowest):
1. Straight Flush
2. 5 Card Flush
3. 4 Card Flush
4. 3 Card Flush
5. 2 Card Flush
Ties broken by cards comprising flush, then by cards in hand.
o Pure Luck: All cards are dealt up.
Mediocre
* Maximum Number of Players: 7
* Wild Cards: None
* The Game:
1. Object: Get 3 legs. Players win half the pot and get a leg each time they have the middle hand, the hand that came closest to beating the same number of hands as beat it that hand. If there is more than one middle hand, then the higher middle hand wins half the pot and earns a leg. In the event of a tie for the middle hand, each player involved in the tie splits half the pot and earns a leg. If a player gets 3 legs, then he wins the pot and the game is over. If more than one player gets 3 legs on the same hand, then they each split the pot.
2. If a player folds during a Mediocre game, then he is out for the rest of the game, not just that Mediocre hand.
3. Players are dealt 1 down and 1 up.
4. Bet, then deal 1 card up.
5. Bet, then deal 1 card up.
6. Bet, then deal 1 card up.
7. Bet and show. Middle hand gets half the pot and 1 leg.
8. Collect the cards. The deal rotates to the left and another Mediocre hand is dealt to those players who stayed in until the showdown.
Take It Or Leave It
* Maximum Number of Players: 9
* Wild Cards: Cut the deck for a wild card (should be Jacks or less)
* The Game:
1. The game is dealt and played like standard 5 Stud, except that players have a choice on up-cards. The dealer shows the top card of the deck and asks the player, "take it, or leave it?" If the player takes it, then he gets that card and the dealer exposes the next card for the next player, otherwise he gets the next card on the deck and the same up-card is offered to the next player.
2. If, at the end of a dealing round, the top card is exposed, then bury it.
3. Each round of dealing up-cards should start one player further to the left then it did the last time. Down cards always start to the dealer's left.
* Variants:
o High-low Take It Or Leave It: High-Low Split, declare after the last betting round. Instead of cutting for the wild card, 3s are wild if you are going high and Kings are wild if you are going low.
o Take It Or Leave It For The Other Guy: Players "take it, or leave it" for the player to their right.
Three Card Substitution
* Maximum Number of Players: 7
* Wild Cards: None
* High-Low Split
* The Game:
1. The game is dealt and played like High-Low 5 Stud.
2. After the last betting round, starting with the player to the left of the player with the lowest poker hand showing and proceeding to the left through each player, each player may substitute an up or down card for a fresh one from the dealer for $0.10.
3. Bet, then repeat above substitution starting with the new player with the lowest poker hand showing, but this time it costs $0.20.
4. Bet, then repeat above substitution starting with the new player with the lowest poker hand showing, but this time it costs $0.30.
5. Bet, declare and show. High and low hands split the pot.
* Variants:
o Make substituting the down-card cost more than an up-card.
