Maybe shes too terrified to leave him, control freaks are very manipulative clever people who convince their partners they are in the wrong and that everything is their fault, try talking to her when hes out of the way and see if you can make her understand what damage he is doing, good luck.

It's not that your enjoys being treated like crap it's just that she lost hope and maybe she has low self esteme, It happens when you get older you think nobody wants you and you hold oin to the person you have wether it's good or bad. You may need to sit down with your mom and talk to her about the situation and if she does'nt want to fix it then maybe you should try getting along with him.

Huh? If her boyfriend/husband has done something bad and she won't leave him. It's because she doesn't know what to do when he's gone. She can't picture herself without him.

She probably doesn't have much self-esteem. Usually people who allow themselves to be controlled actually believe they can't take care of themselves.
Regretfully, it impacts you.
I lived with one, but I saw how he treated our daughter and got out. It was one thing if I wanted to put up with it, another to put her through it.

it sounds like to me he is abusing your mom,Most women will not leave because they always think it
is something they are doing,economic status-if she has little money where can she go?,
