I have always written my name in a certain way as it appears in my soc. sec. card. Later I had to get a copy of my birth certificate and discovered I have been spelling it wrong. After so many years, what can I do?

My main concern is about legal documents I have signed. Can anyone allege they are invalid because I used a "different" name?

You don't really have to do anything. Birth certificates are notorious for misspellings and errors. The only reason I'd contemplate making any changes are if you a re denied a passport, but even that seems unlikely.

Get a bottle of "Whiteout", it's cheap, and easy. (Just like me.)
