I finished the final early, so I got up to leave and she was all like "No sit down until everyone else finishes."

So i waited like 30 minutes till 2 other people finished and then we all went to her desk + asked her if we could leave and she said okay.

What's up with that??

I always let my students leave when they finish. Some people don't want students who are still taking the test to be disturbed by people shuffling papers and squeezing past them.

I can understand making people stay if there are less than ten minutes left for this reason. But if it is more than a half hour -- it seems a little ridiculous.

not all classes let you leave after you finish a test or quiz. it;s just the style of the professor. u can ask him, he'd probably say the same. or he'd say that he was told to do that.
