My male guppy is chasing my female (not a surprise). But he's trying to nip at her, not "poke" her. Anyone know about this? Thanks! And oh yeah, I'm 75% sure she is pregnant.

I am planning on getting another female for him. But I'm still unsure of why he is trying to bite her? I've watched them often since getting him and have never been able to witness him trying to mate with her (his bottom fin thing always stayed close to his body). But that doesn't mean it hasn't happened of course. I'm pretty sure it has. But anyways- why is he trying to bite her?

Help! I bought another female on Saturday so that the original one could get a break. Today is Monday and now she seems to be slimmer and her gravid spot is much lighter. She did not previously appear to be ready to give birth so I don't think she had them. Did she miscarry? Will she ever give birth? I've had her for a couple months now (thought she was pregnant when I got her) but she has never had fry. This time I was certain she was getting bigger and darker and now I am back to square one! What's going on?

That's not uncommon especially if she is pregnant and about to have babies. As the previous answerer says, having several females for every male is a good idea to prevent too much chasing and nipping.

if she is a female and has been with males...I'm 100% sure she is pregnant. If you are worried about all the attention he is giving her, give him 2 more girls. That way he has more girls to chase and she can get a break.
