if you were walking out on your marriage and you had a whole week with two of your siblings in your home without your wife around, wouldn't you make sure that you removed the most important things to you that are not replaceable out of the home first; such as baby albums, family pictures....etc? or would you leave it behind?

Its half and half. These are your children and although you are walking out on your wife...you arent walking out on your children are you? You do plan to see your kids on a regular basis arent you? You deserve to have pictures of your children....Im sure there isnt just one. Tell your wife you are taking some of the photos and leave her some. You have a right to those photos just as much as she does. Buy yourself a camera and when you have your kids you can start your own collection too. Take what you need, but also be considerate and leave some for your wife. What you could do is take the baby albums and family photos and have them duplicated then both of you will have a set each.

Good luck

Even in an acrimonious break up certain lines should not be crossed.
You mentioned Baby albums and Family pictures both of which should surely be"joint property".
You may now not love her but she still has feelings and things like that can mean an awful lot to women. I don't doubt they do to you too, so "share them" ( even if it means making duplicates).
If you "give" a little now it may save you some petty meaness from her when she has something you want ( access to the children for instance?).

Why not, women do it all the time. But I would take only what I wanted. Definitely not anything that would pertain to only other half. Since I did NOT want to reminded of the horrendous mistake I made in marrying the individual in the first place..

I would sit and discuss who has what in an adult manner. there could be a way around this without upsetting anybody. Photo's can be duplicated. If you have access to your kids, try and keep it that way. Maybe you could share them etc

Best wishes, hope it works out for you.

Too many ifs. These days, all my photos and documents are digitized and saved in a network so I have them anytime and from anywhere.

If you both share these items and they are important to both of you, you should really talk to your wife about who keeps what.
