Pesticides, fertilizers and herbicides for growing the cotton for cotton clothing. Gasoline for the tractors which plant, treat, harvest, bale, and transport the cotton. Any synthetic fiber is usually made with a wide assortment of chemicals many of them petroleoum based. Then comes the dyes and coloring agents and treatments for the colors, additives that prevent fading, once again many of them petroleum based. Zippers and snaps are either plastic or metal metal made in refinerys or plastics which are petroleum based. There is a lot involved in clothing manufaturing from start to finish.
In all honesty the world should just go naked.

Starch ans some stain repellent but I doubt that they pollute much. Your under arm anti presperent is much worse for u .
