Assuming people put the truth down, it could help judge the value of an answer if you know a bit about the answerer.

What for??? I just want to ask questions and answer them, I don't come on here to make friends as people can lie about themselves, so going on their profile and reading about them may be fiction or fact.
(plus some people write too much 'yawn')
If you want to judge me about my character then check out my q&a as these will give you a general idea about my personality. Anyway I like the idea of the 'fans' profile as may have something in common with other q&a's, like music or surveys or society etc etc.

Why not just take the answer at face value? The profile has nothing to do with the answers.

I had a long "About Me Profile" on my Answers account before I was suspended. Now I don't want to type all that again. I've shortened it to just two sentences. My 360 gives a clear picture of who I am and what I'm about.

I did and I had my email up but some stupid guy decided it was really funny to stalk me and freak me out so both came off and when I set my 360 page up that's the only way people will find out bits about me, it gets a bit too scary on here at times so you have to protect yourself the best you can.

Because some wish to remain anonymous. I find that being anonymous helps me to be objective. If people want to know more about me, they are free to read my Q&A as well, since it's public after all.
People should judge the value of any single answer by itself and try to be objective and open-minded since it's hard to know the tone of an answer at times in this place.

I could have done (and still might do!), but to be honest with you, the actual quality of my answer has very little to do with what I could have written about myself in my profile. That is purely for general interest.

what do you want people to put in their profile?their age?their sex?their home address?
i dont put anything down for everyone to see.i only give out any info about myself to 1 or 2 people,and only then if i feel that i will always talk to them and that we wont lose contact.
